AppIcon Privacy Policy

Overview

The AppIcon application (hereinafter "this app") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. This privacy policy explains what information this app collects and how it is used.

Information Collection

AppIcon 1.10.0 uses Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) for usage analytics and Sentry for crash reporting and error diagnostics. Collection is enabled when the distributed app starts. Interactions, app and device information, identifiers, approximate location derived from IP addresses, and diagnostic information are sent to these services.

• All image processing is performed locally on your computer
• The contents of selected images and generated icon images are not transmitted to external servers
• No account creation or login required
• App installation identifiers and session IDs may associate events from the same app or device. This data is not completely anonymous
• We do not obtain precise location through location services, but IP addresses may be used to infer approximate location, such as country or region
• We do not use this data for advertising, advertising measurement, or tracking across other companies' apps or websites

Data Processing

This app processes data as follows:

• Local Processing: All image conversion and processing is performed on your Mac
• Temporary Use: Selected images are used temporarily in memory only during processing
• Usage Analytics with Firebase Analytics: We record app launches, image selection, setting changes, export actions, selected platforms, image dimensions, setting values, and output file counts. The SDK also processes app instance IDs, session information, app and OS versions, device information, language, and approximate location derived from IP addresses. Our custom analytics events do not include image contents or file names
• Diagnostics with Sentry: We send crash reports, app hangs, error details, app state, device and OS information, and installation identifiers. With the current configuration, Sentry also processes IP addresses, which may be associated with diagnostic information
• User Control: Only images explicitly selected by you are processed
• Retry Storage: If usage data cannot be sent, it may be temporarily stored on your device so it can be retried later

Security

This app runs within macOS App Sandbox and provides the following security features:

• The app can only access files you have permitted
• The contents of image files and generated icon images are not transmitted
• No access to system files or other app data
• Usage and diagnostic information is not linked to an account containing your name or email address. However, identifiers and IP addresses may associate it with an app or device
• Usage and diagnostic information is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections

Third-Party Data Sharing

Usage data is sent to Firebase Analytics (Google), and crash reports and other diagnostic information are sent to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.). The purposes are to understand how AppIcon is used and improve its stability and quality. We do not link Google Ads or combine this data with other companies' data for advertising-related tracking. Processing by each service is subject to its privacy policy and service settings.

User Rights

Please contact us with privacy questions or requests about usage and diagnostic information. Because the app has no accounts, we may not be able to locate relevant records using only your name or email address.

• Right to Rectification: You may request correction if inaccurate information is involved
• Right to Erasure: You may request deletion where required by applicable law
• Right to Data Portability: You may request information about data handling where required by applicable law

Minors' Privacy

This app does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, image contents, or other directly identifying information from users, including minors under 13. If you believe personal information about a minor was collected by mistake, please contact us.

This privacy policy may be updated as necessary. Important changes will be communicated through the following methods:
